We had to take the train and the MRT...it was awesome. It was also crazy to see everyone lined up waiting for the MRT. no crowds at this station.
One of the first stands we saw at the night market was this guy making little glass objects.
So much delicious food! These are just some of the pictures of the different foods we ate.
Anne and Dennis reacting to the bitter tea that Anne bought. There faces are priceless.
danielle with her candy coated strawberries. she was so happy to find them. We also ran into Dan Chen and Jia before we left! (they are also MIT students....jia was visiting Dan for the week)
Everything was going smoothly until we were walking home and Emily's shoe broke. She does not like to walk slowly so instead of shuffling home she took her shoe off and walked but then we went by a 7-eleven and were convinced we could find a temporary solution in order to get her home and hopefully without stepping on anything. We were right. We found something. We found socks and instead of just wearing the socks which would not have been much different from walking barefoot, she put her shoe inside the sock and then put the sock on. it was ridiculously funny but she got home safely!
We had some TAs with us and they were just laughing at us. They had never seen anything like this before. Emily on her walk home.
Once we got home it was near midnight and we forgot that the power goes off at midnight. Dwang was getting ready to study for the MCATs (for like the first time) when poof..the lights went out. It was a sign that she could not study but luckily dwhited had a headlamp with her so Dwang could still study.
