10000 Buddhas
On Sunday we decided to sleep in and then go to see the old monastery that had 10000 buddhas. Along the way there were many buddha statues lining the path (Vibin imitating one). The guidebook also told us that there would be 400 steps so vibin counted all the way up to see if the guidebook was correct
One of the temples was filled with 12800 miniature statues (those above). We chose not to count them and just trust the book.
Beautiful pagoda in the center of the site. We chose to go to the top of the pagoda and then while inside the pagadoI tried to read about it on my kindle to see if there was anything interesting that Lonely Planet had to say about it.
Having fun on the landing in front of the pagoda as well as statues.
Beautiful Buddhas throughout a hillside, in stones and in front of a waterfall. Then us from where we were looking at these buddhas with the Sha Tin city behind us.
We found Ikea! Except instead of having its owns store, it was on the top level/two on a furniture mall but they did provide this express escalator to its area. We ended up getting lunch in Ikea because it was near the monastery and we could not find any where else to eat. The place was so busy that we ended up splitting up and I found Liz, Emily and Vibin chilling in this area.
