After every day we tend to work out and at the end of Friday's workout Emily was having a particularly good hair day.
On Friday night, we went to Grace's home for dinner and her mom cooked us a delicious meal. Here are some pictures of the dishes that we had.
Us at Grace's dinning room table. Dessert was this delicious mountain apple...so good!
On Friday we went to Grace's home and stayed there. We were all super excited to be sleeping not in our beds. The floors with comforters are more comfortable then our beds now.
Surfing in the North
We took a bus to where we were going surfing and the surf shop was going to come pick us up but they got a little delayed so we just chilled on the side of the road. Kyle slept where the bus dropped us off (literally). It was early and he was still tired from the night before. Luckily there was a picnic bench right near the road so we all quickly fell asleep as we were waiting for our ride.
All of us chilling near the umbrellas we sat under when we are not trying to surf. Carol and Sandy came to surf with us! There were sooo many people there it was crazy and the current kept pulling us away from everyone so at one point we just gave up and let ourselves drift on our surfboards because it was easier to try to get up when you did not have to worry about all the people around you.
When we were waiting for the bus stop, this man was making scallion pancakes from scratch so Dwang, Dwhited and I decided to share one and try it.
Tapei
After surfing we went back to Grace's and changed and went to Taipei to meet up with Dan Chen to grab dinner.
The place Dan Chen brought us for dinner was delicious. These are two pictures from my meal (it was a five course meal). This was a tomatoe salad and then my red bean dessert with taro. It was all so good.
Group picture after dinner. 6 of us plus Grace, Dan and his sister.
You never stop eating in Taiwan. Too much delicious food. After dinner we went to a shaved ice place for more dessert.
National Palace Museum
On Sunday we went to the National Palace Museum to see all the pieces that were taken from the Forbidden City as well as to see the famous landscape that had been reunited for the first time in over 300years.
Dinner with the TAs
The place we went to eat was one of Dennis's favorite place to eat. (Dennis is a TA). The picture that looks like a little house is the room we all sat in together.
There were many cute paths connecting all the different rooms together. The food was presented in trays with a soup, salad and a main dish.
Shiny and Anne. The group afterwards (some of the TAs and the 6 of us....we kinda blend in).
