BBQ at the beach during a typhoon
Emily and May having fun on the bus ride to the beach we were going to in order to BBQ-Hong Kong Style. Emily and Danielle Whiteds' mechanical engineering students brought us after class. It happened to be during the typhoon storm but we had been in Hong Kong long enough at this point that the chances of it not raining one day were pretty slim so we mine as well go on this day.
Luckily the area we bbq'ed had a roof covering the area we were to grill. No Hong Kong bbq is sufficient without grilling some squid and octopus. Kyle checking out our table of food trying to decide what he would chose to grill next.
Group around the grills.
So in between the rain storms, we decided to venture out to the water and check it out. Luckily we brought our umbrellas with us to the beach because we were not there long before it started raining again.
After the beach, the students wanted to introduce us to shaved ice dessert so we went to Mong Kok. It was delicious and never would have found the place without them.
Danielle Whited and I shared this shaved ice and it was flavored with mango and strawberry syrup. It was actually quite light and did not make you feel super full or heavy after eating it.
