Breakfast
Before starting our day we went to find cheap good chinese breakfast and we found an AWESOME place. It had the best bao zi (a type of dumpling...white things piled up in the picture) I had probably had the whole summer. It was delicious. We also had xi fan (rice porridge). Once we were fed, we were ready to go.
Park
The park was so high in altitude we were strongly recommended to buy an oxygen tank and take some of the oxygen before we went to go see the sites (the highest point we would be going to was about 5000meters above sea level). Apparently you have to take the oxygen before you feel symptoms because once you feel the symptoms it is too late. After our driver convinced us, we decided we would play it safe and take some oxygen. We did not want to get sick. We also rented big coats to keep us warm and dry (it was raining as well).
Even though it was overcast most of the time we were there it was still gorgeous.
It was crazy to think that there was this huge lake so high from sea level.
The stones were purple! So neat! The reflection of the trees in the water was beautiful.
The moss growing from trees was amazing! I could not believe it. I took so many pictures of it. I had never seen anything like it before.
Pictures from Drive back to Shangri-la
On the way back from the park we had the driver stop on the side of the road at different points so we could take pictures of the views and the houses. It was china, so you just stopped wherever. Even if it was in the middle of going around a turn. Probably not the safest but gave us awesome pictures.
In order to hold down their shingles on their roofs they used rocks.
The car we used that day. We did not get as close to our driver in Shangri-la as we did in Lijiang. We missed our Lijaing driver so much.
