Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

DSC_0023_4

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Park was gorgeous. We took a day trip to this park from Lijiang. At first we were a little sad that it was so cloudy but then it ended up working out really well because the clouds would move so we were able to get some really neat photos of mountain peaks peaking out between clouds.

Anne will do just about anything to get a good photo.

Dwang trying to see if she  can walk on rocks to cross the water without getting wet (yes there was a path she could have taken). She just barely made it but at the last second she got her foot wet. She overestimated the gap between land and the last rock she was standing on.

So many beautiful waterfalls. Also you can start to see the color of the water. It was gorgeous.

The  color is unreal! We could not believe water could actually be that color!

We loved the fact that the little girl on the right got into our picture.  She showed us the new pose we should try out. A yak walking on the ponds of water. We ran out of time in the morning before our show to go check out this area of the park so we went back after the show which ended up being a great idea because there were not as many people there late in the afternoon.

The Ethnic Show

This show was awesome and had the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the background (the peak did not show for very long because of clouds and had no snow because it was the middle of the summer but was still beautiful). The show displayed a lot of different tribal dancing from the area. There were a lot of people in the show but were apparently all normal day people who just came to do the show.  The show combined a lot of different cultures from the Yunnan Province and the type of dancing that each village does.  The director is the same person who choreographed the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics.

They danced on horses, played drums in the audience.
